New release of Vulani expected soon
The latest version of Vulani (Vulani 1.7.4) is on track to be released early next week (23 February 2010). This release is set to bring full support for PABX telephone networks into the already comprehensive Vulani package.
With the incorporation of Asterisk support, it will now be possible to manage your telephone system through your Vulani server. This upgrade will effectively turn your Vulani box into a fully VOIP-capable switchboard, allowing you full control over your internal telephone network as well as a full caller ID and call-detail reporting system.
Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) is the general term for the technology that allows voice communication over IP networks, such as the internet. It enables phone calls to be routed over exisiting data networks, thereby reducing communication and infrastructure costs.
This release enhances Vulani’s abilities as a full business networking product, extending the scope of your control beyond just your computer network.
